Whoop whooop! I’m getting old. 28 people. 28.
Being the self serving person I am, I usually make a massive deal out of my birthday and get all my favourite people together but… I’m tired. We’ve had a big year this year and I saw lots of lovely people in the lead up the wedding and it feels a bit much to do a big celebration this year.
Instead J and I went for dinner at Hotel du Vin – just the two of us, to celebrate my birthday on the 13th and Jack’s which is actually today. I think it might be the lowest key birthday celebration in my living memory. Short note about the meal – Jack’s Moules Frites Marinière was apparently delicious and there was loads. My grilled Globe Artichoke with Buffalo mozzarella and preserved lemon wasn’t very good. But we made up for it by going to Kooks for a cocktail and dessert. Yum.
On the 13th, we woke up pretty early and headed out for a walk along the Undercliff walkway out to beyond Rottingdean and back.
Then unashamedly pigged out in Zizzi’s who had sent me a *have a free birthday main* email voucher. Yes please, I like free pizza.
Tonight, if our car is in functioning order following it’s MOT, I’ll hopefully pick Jack up from work and either take him out for dinner or hunt down an appropriately exciting supper to have at home.
On Sunday some in laws are coming over for Sunday lunch and then later this month I am seeing some lovely ladies for a little lunching which I am looking forward to.
What do you like to do for your birthday?
